Target 101

Target has some great deals out there and a liberal coupon policy. I have personally never had a problem using coupons or price matching at target and I encourage everyone to do try it out for themselves.
Here are the in’s and out’s of Target
v     They accept manufacturer coupons. One for each item.
v     They also have an extensive section of coupons on their website.(Go to Target.com, look in the upper right hand corner for “See More” and a list will come up with coupons being on the far left).
v     You can stack manufacturer coupons with Target coupons.
v     You can use coupons on clearance items.
v     They will allow overages. For example, if you have a coupon for $1 off of Reach Floss and it costs $.97, the additional $.03 will be taken off as well(as long as you have items to fill in that gap).
v     They do price match. You need to bring in the FULL competitors ad(not just a portion). Take it to the service desk with the items you want to purchase and they will be happy to match the price.
v     LOOK FOR CLEARNACE!!!
Target has an amazing amount of stuff on clearance that changes constantly. It is usually on the end caps of aisles so keep your eyes out and your coupons handy so that you can score even better deals.
v     Keep an eye out for the Target Pharmacy gift cards. Target will sometimes print a coupon for a $10 gift card for a new or transferred prescription which is a great bonus. I have begun transferring my prescriptions over from my old University Pharmacy and I have to say that Target is extremely efficient and helpful when it comes to prescriptions and has given me better service than other places I have gone to.
v     Use those price check stations.
Have you come across something that was on clearance at Target but was just still a little too much? Oftentimes, some clearance items get lost in the mix when more markdowns happen. Sometimes, things just stay on the shelves and never get put in with the rest. Try scanning it. I have scored candles at 90% off when they were marked at full price(they were technically seasonal though completely white and were just left in the candle section) and yoga pants for 75% when they were marked at just 30%(there was a large rack of pants and it was the only pair of its kind so I took a chance to scan it).
I’m not saying to do this on every item, but it may be worth your time in certain situations. If an item has seasonal look to but is still in the regular section, if the item says seasonal on it(by the SKU), when there have been recent large markdowns(like everything went down from 50% to 75%) as something may have been missed, and when something is out of place on the rack or shelf that its on(i.e. it’s the only one of its kind amongst a large group of items).
